Fiducia hires McGarry to broker further intermediary ties

Specialty MGA Fiducia Underwriting has announced the appointment of Amanda McGarry, as it seeks to build on its already strong relationships with brokers across the UK.

The Leeds based underwriter has recruited Amanda to enhance the company’s engagement with its broker partners.

She joins Fiducia having been working in the insurance industry for over two decades. Her previous role was Head of Business Development, Central and South East, at Markel International, where she was charged with developing relationships with brokers, large corporate clients and affinity groups.

Fiducia CEO Gerry Sheehy said: “Amanda’s appointment is yet another statement of intent from Fiducia as we seek to grow the business. She has built a tremendous reputation with insurers and brokers alike.

“Amanda is highly regarded as a pro-active new business winner with experience of securing large UK and Global cases. She has experience of establishing profitable schemes and conducting portfolio reviews, and that skill set will add significantly to the business.

“Fiducia is committed to grow sensibly in the market. There are still significant opportunities for underwriters who know their markets and can provide not only quality covers, backed by secure and highly rated capacity, but also the highest service levels.

“Our broker partners recognise the benefits that working with Fiducia can bring and Amanda will now work to broaden our  pool of  broker partners while delivering additional support to our current brokers and their clients.”

“I am delighted to be joining Fiducia at such an exciting time for the company,” Amanda said. “Fiducia is keen to grow but do so in the right way and my task is to develop and solidify our relationships with the brokers, who will play a key part in that growth.

Fiducia has built a reputation for the products it offers and the can do attitude it brings to brokers and their clients. We have a strong underwriting team and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead.”
